The Horton Plains hiking guide is your complete guide to exploring one of Sri Lanka’s most spectacular highland landscapes on foot. Located in the cool Central Highlands, Horton Plains National Park is famous for its misty grasslands, cloud forests, dramatic viewpoints, waterfalls and unique wildlife.
The main Horton Plains hiking trail is approximately 9 km long and follows a circular route from the Visitor Centre. The complete walk can take around three hours, although most visitors should allow additional time for photography, sightseeing, wildlife watching and rest stops.
