Sri Lanka Tourism recommends visiting Horton Plains between approximately 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, when conditions are generally more suitable for enjoying the panoramic views.
Horton Plains is primarily a walking and hiking destination. Visitors enter the national park through designated entrances and then explore the main attractions along the approximately 9 km circular walking trail.
World’s End Horton Plains Hiking Trail
The only way to reach World’s End within the national park is by walking the designated hiking trail. Horton Plains is particularly special because it is a Sri Lankan national park where visitors explore the main attractions on foot rather than by traditional safari jeep.
The main circular trail is approximately 9 km and takes around 3–4 hours, depending on your walking pace, photography stops and weather conditions.
