Early morning is the best time to visit Horton Plains.

We recommend arriving at the park as early as possible and starting the walking trail soon after entry.

Recommended time

6:00 AM – 10:00 AM

This is especially important if World’s End is the main reason for your visit. According to Sri Lanka Tourism, panoramic views from World’s End can become obscured by fog and clouds from around 10:00 AM onwards.

An early start also gives you cooler conditions for the approximately 9 km circular walking trail.
